JOIN THE PARTY AS TWO SUDBURIANS SHOOT FOR GOLD ON THURSDAY

SUDBURY – MP Glenn Thibeault and Made in Canada Restaurant (formerly Don Cherry’s) invite all Sudburians to come out and watch Tessa Bonhomme, Rebecca Johnston and the rest of Team Canada battle the Americans for the Olympic women’s hockey gold medal Thursday night.

“We have two extremely talented Sudbury athletes with a chance to wear gold!” said Thibeault.  “Two graduates from Girls hockey locally are competing for their country at the highest level.  This is very special and I want everyone across our city to share in the excitement.”

MIC co-owner Chuck Barbeau is urging fans to join together and make some noise. “This will be a great hockey game and imagine the celebration when Tessa and Rebecca help us strike gold on the ice.”

Thibeault has no doubt as to which team will come out on top. “We are defending Olympic champions in women’s hockey and playing at home makes us that much tougher.  Plus beating our arch rivals from the U-S will make it taste even sweeter.”

Admission to the event is free and special congratulatory Canadian Flags will be available for fans to sign.  The flags will be presented to Bonhomme and Johnston when they return home from Vancouver.

A reminder that Thursday’s game begins at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time.
